SynopsisEmployees aged over 55 years old are the fastest growing demographic in Singapore. By 2030, this group will account for 40% of the workforce. With older workers taking up an increasing share in the labour force, employers need to adapt to the changing employment landscape.A shift in perspective is needed to actively engage this increasing pool of talent comprising of mature and older workers. This move will be supported, with the Tripartite Workgroup of Older Workers recommending that employers engage mature and older workers in structured career planning sessions centered on their future career plans and potential support from companies.The Structured Career Planning (SCP) guidebook developed by SNEF and MOM released in 2022 helps to provide a framework for employers to engage mature and older workers. SCP ensures that they are prepared for their career needs ahead and will continue to reskill and upskill to value-add to the company's current and future goals.The post-COVID economy brings along with it a rapidly-changing business landscape. Key forces of change such as accelerating business transformation, increasing need for developing structured workplace learning, skills development, job redesign and digitalization has, and will continue to impact Singapore's workforce.This session will cover trends on ageing, market practices related to mature and older workers and retirement & re-employment, as well as insights from the SCP guidebook to help HR further meet their business needs for their mature and older workers.This session will be facilitated by the SNEF Centre for Labour Information & Analytics (CLIA).
