Synopsis
Many have been raised on the traditional idea of a three-stage approach in their working lives - education, work and retirement. However, with life expectancy at an all-time high in Singapore and total fertility rate at its lowest, there is a rapidly ageing workforce. Thus, there is a need to re-think the construct of employees' longer working lives, especially pre-retirement and beyond retirement.

Career development remains key, as it enables employees to be more proactive in advancing both their career and life goals. Helping employees establish a comprehensive career action plan can help organisations to keep their staff motivated, enhance skills, increase employability and resilience, while also ensuring a highly productive workforce.

Structured Career Planning (SCP) provides a clear and systematic approach and a good starting point to begin discussions to understand the career aspirations and goals of mature/senior employees based on a multi-stage career model.

This session will share the latest local demographic trends in the workforce. This is followed by best practices in a career development for mature/senior workers to help employers better understand how ageing can be a productive asset, instead of a liability for the organisation, as well as how HR can play a part in achieving productive longevity for their workforce.

This session will be facilitated by the SNEF Centre for Labour Information & Analytics (CLIA). Limited seats are available due to the exclusivity of the event.
